Setup Instagram Feedback Source
Requirements
The user connecting Instagram to Feedier needs to have an adminsitrator access to the Instagram page and to the “Meta portfolio” associated with it. The Instagram page needs to be a business type page. Otherwise step 5.1 of this guide will not be feasible.
Introduction
The goal of this guide is to set up Instagram as a feedback import source to import in Feedier:
Instagram mentions to your Organization’s Instagram account
Instagram comments in your Organization’s Instagram account media items
Instagram direct messages to your Organization’s Instagram account
Feedier does not provide inbox capabilities and does not let your users answer comments, mentions or messages from the Dashboard.
Why connect Instagram as an import source in Feedier?
By integrating Instagram with Feedier, you unlock valuable insights directly from your customers’ and followers' social conversations. Feedier enables you to identify and detect pain points, emerging trends, and frequently mentioned themes in your Instagram content. This integration transforms social engagement from Instagram into actionable insights, helping you understand what resonates with your audience and where operational improvements can be made (products, digital journey, retail experience, etc.).
Through Feedier's analytics, you can spot customer sentiments, track product feedback, and monitor brand perception in real-time.
Getting started
Go to Feedback → Import → “Create a new import”
Click “Instagram“
In the Step 2, Import configuration, set the “Instagram Username” value with Organization’s Instagram account (do not add the @ character)
In the Step 3, select “Automatically create a new "survey"“ option:
This option will automatically generate a Feedier survey to map the data fields with the right data format without manual action from your part.
Once Steps 3 and 4 completed, you need to click the “Connect“ button with the Facebook branding to give Feedier the right access.
The user that clicks Connect need to have an admin access to your Organization’s Instagram account. Feedier will automatically check that the connected Instagram account’s username matches the username provided in the step 2.
5.1 Choose your Meta Portfolio
5.2 Choose the Facebook page linked to your Instagram Account
5.3 Choose your Instagram Account
5.4 Authorize Feedier
5.5 Validate the connection
Once the authentication flow from Meta is finished, you can reload the page.
If it’s successful, you will see a icon with the expiration time.
The authentification has to be refreshed every 2 months. To refresh it, simply re-execute step 5.
How to test the success of the integration?
For Comments & Direct mentions
Whenever a new comment, mentions is received on your Organization’s Instagram account:
It will be imported into Feedier and available through the different modules (Live feed, Text Analysis, Assignments, etc.)
For Direct messages
When a new direct message is received from a IG user to your organization, it will be synchronized in Feedier:
You can use the comments section on the Feedbacks page to reply directly to the message.
